Boca Grande is a genteel retreat for fishermen, the rich and famous or vacationers who want a relaxing getaway in an old Florida, barefoot elegant atmosphere.

Besides swimming, sunbathing, fishing and dining out, shelling is a very popular activity. You can find shells, sea glass and sharks teeth on the beach. The winter months are best for shelling, but shells, sea glass and sharks teeth can be found year round.  Make sure to bring all of your beach gear.

This is truly a quaint, quiet village that the residents love.

Boca Grande Lighthouse

Make sure you go to the end of the island to see the lighthouse. The Boca Grande Lighthouse has quite a history and now houses a very interesting museum documenting the history of the lighthouse and surrounding area.

Boca Grande has wooden walkways going above the seagrass and seagrapes to get to the beach. You are very likely to spot a 2-3 ft. Iguana down in the seagrass. They’re quite used to humans, but, please leave them alone.
