Anna Maria Vacation

AN ANNA MARIA VACATION

A Taste of Old Time Florida

Great! You’re thinking about taking an Anna Maria vacation.  It’s such a great place to unwind.  The City of Anna Maria is located on the northern end of Anna Maria Island in Manatee County. When you arrive, you’ll marvel at the warm, friendly old time Florida feel. It is one square mile with beautiful beaches, a lovely bay side and unpretentious homes.

The Anna Maria City Pier on the bay side, along with the pristine beaches, are the focal points and visitor attractions of this quaint area. The pier extends 710 feet into the bay. Enjoy a day’s fishing off the Pier, and definitely go to the Anna Maria City Pier Restaurant and Gift Shop at the end of the Pier for a wonderful seafood sandwich.

South Lido Park Sarasota

South Lido Park Sarasota

South Lido Park is at the southern end of Lido Key on Ben Franklin Dr. It is a secluded 100 acre wildlife preserve on Big Pass with 640 feet of gorgeous Gulf front beach.

South Lido Beach

There are picnic tables, restroom facilities and lots of tall Australian pine trees, which provide shady areas so you can spend a wonderful, quiet day fishing, sunbathing and grilling. You can launch a kayak or canoe and paddle through the mangroves or around St. Armand’s Circle.

There are 4 bodies of water adjacent to the park:

  • the Gulf of Mexico,
  • Big Pass,
  • Brushy Bayou,
  • and, Sarasota Bay.

You can catch a beautiful view of the Sarasota skyline and the Gulf of Mexico from the southern end of the Park. At the northern end of the Park you can take a stroll on the scenic nature trail.

Lido Key Beach Florida

Lido Key Beach Florida

Lido Beach Florida is known as Lido Key Public Beach and is definitely my favorite of the 3 beaches on Lido Key. There are nice, covered picnic areas, concessions stands and restroom facilities here, making this the perfect spot for those of us not wanting to bring coolers or set up for a cookout or picnic. This beach is located in the center of Lido Key, about 1/2 mile from the famous St. Armand’s Circle.

North Lido Beach

Lido Key Public Beach has wonderful amenities for those who want a carefree, easy going day of swimming, and sunbathing without the need for packing lunches and carrying coolers.

The water currents at this beach are gentle, making is a good swimming beach. The amenities here are:

  • Concession Stand
  • Restroom Facilities
  • Meeting Room
  • Gift Shop
  • Handicapped Accessible...
